Job description

Global Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Application Support Analyst.
Work Mode: Hybrid
Pay rate range: $ 60.00 - $ 64.00 Negotiable based upon years of experienceResponsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments, providing technical and business support for users of the company.
  • Provide resolutions to application issues, driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements to help the department and overall business succeed.
  • Perform start of day checks, continuous monitoring, regional handovers, and same-day risk reconciliations.
  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation for support team members and wider technology teams.
  • Partner with appropriate application development and production support areas and teams to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
  • Assess risk and impact of production issues, escalating to the business and technology management in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Participate in application releases from development, testing, and deployment into the production environment.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Systems Analysts to determine and document systems impacts and support requirements.
  • Consider the implications of the application of technology to the current environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a Production Support role/environment is essential.
  • Experience with technical tools and systems and a willingness and ability to learn new technologies, specifically SQL and Linux.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and/or supporting business applications.
  • Knowledge and experience of Problem Management Tools.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders and lead discussions with clear, articulate, and highly assertive communication skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating practical problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in a Foreign Exchange / Markets Support is preferred.
  • Required Skills: Unix and SQL.
  • Provides in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
