Job description

Dock & Door Service Technician

Pay: $25 - $30

Raymond Storage Concepts is a leading provider of customized material handling solutions, dedicated to warehouse and fleet optimization. Covering Ohio, Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and West Virginia, Raymond Storage Concepts is an authorized sales and service center for Raymond Corporation, a global leader in materials handling technology, expertise and support. Headquartered in Cincinnati, we service our clients through a network of regional locations, including Columbus and Louisville.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Dock & Door Operations Manager, the Dock & Door Service Technician role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting dock & door equipment based upon customer demands. Duties will include the installation and repair of Commercial and Industrial Rolling and Panel Overhead Doors, Dock Levelers, Dock Locks, Safety Gates and Truck Shelters. The D&D Service Technician must conduct all work in a safe and efficient manner, following all applicable safety regulations and company procedures while ensuring customer satisfaction.

This position must also promote service maintenance programs and the dealership in general, and provide complete customer satisfaction in a polite and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

  • Complete all required safety training in a timely manner, stay current on all required safety training, and practice safe work habits at all times.
  • Obtain all required certification for operation of applicable equipment to perform work.
  • Meet applicable goals for key performance indicators (Work in Progress, Labor Hour Efficiency & First Rate Fix, etc.).
  • Maintain company-supplied service van and uniforms in a clean and organized fashion as well as maintaining an accurate inventory of tools and parts.
  • Diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction.
  • For installs, diagnose installation job sites and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify potential installation issues.
  • Perform all service, installations, and scheduled maintenance efficiently and effectively, in line with company procedure.
  • Maintain records of all service work and repairs performed in line with company procedure. Turn in paperwork in a timely fashion, ensuring honesty, accuracy and legibility.
  • Work with service dispatcher and manager to maximize labor revenue and efficiency within the work schedule while accounting for 100% of work time.
  • Be flexible with work schedule to take care of Raymond Storage Concepts, Inc. customer's needs and also to be able to receive ongoing on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Maintain a clean driving record. Drive safely and efficiently from point to point in service area.
  • Communicate and work with the Parts and Sales departments to insure the customer's needs are being met, and immediately report any potential customer issues that need to be addressed.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Communicate in a professional manner while showing respect to our customers and other company personnel.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and personal attitude, which are essential to maintaining our company's reputation for results orientated service, goodwill and professionalism.
  • Perform job duties in a variety of work environments due to the diverse range of customers we service. This may include a wide range of temperatures, various conditions, outdoor work, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years' relevant experience and/or training preferred
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Welding and cutting torch experience preferred
  • Lift truck and Scissor lift operation experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of D.C. electricity and A.C. electricity, motor control and wiring preferred
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must maintain a clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds or more
