JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager serves as the lead HR professional for Southern Foodservice Management’s Fort Lee location, operating as both a strategic business partner and a hands-on HR leader. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all Human Resources functions at Southern Foodservice Management’s Fort Lee location and leading a multi-member HR department.

Serving as a key resource for employee relations, compliance, and workforce matters, the Human Resources Manager will act as the primary point of contact for complex employee issues, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include the overall management and execution of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, payroll oversight, policy implementation, and HR compliance initiatives.

This role requires a strong background in Human Resources leadership, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment, and a collaborative approach to partnering with local leadership, the Project Manager, and corporate Human Resources subject matter experts to support organizational objectives and ensure consistency in HR practices.

• Proven foundation and knowledge of principles and practice pertaining to Human Resources

• Proven knowledge of recruiting components: sourcing and qualifying
• Proven ability to effectively coach employees and manage complex and sensitive issues
• Ability to accomplish daily/weekly responsibilities in conjunction with developing and implementing projects to drive additional and ongoing improvements
• Ability to establish personal goals and work independently
• Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize

• Plan and coordinate an organization’s workforce to best use employees’ talents
• Link an organization’s management with its employees
• Oversee employee benefit programs
• Serve as a consultant to advise other managers on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment
• Payroll Coordination
• Coordinate and supervise the work of administrative and HR staff
• Oversee an organization’s recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring processes
• Handle staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures
• Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated
• Monitor and apply HR best practices
• Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
