POSITION SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the Corporate Finance Manager, this role serves as a dedicated Finance partner to the Bank’s business lines. The position is responsible for supporting business leaders through financial planning and analysis, including evaluating financial trends, forecasting and measuring performance against forecast and strategic KPIs. The role will partner closely with the business to provide actionable insights that support decision-making and drive performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights that support strategic initiatives. This role will serve as a critical part of a growing strategic finance function within Provident Bank. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Partner with Bank business leaders to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and improved performance. Analyze financial trends in balance sheet and income statement and deliver clear reports on business performance. 
  • Monitor actuals versus forecast and continually update outlooks; communicate variances to stakeholders and work to explain variances and set guidelines for meeting goals. 
  • Create and maintain standard presentations for business unit review meetings and Board discussions. 
  • Discuss trends, yields and financial results with lines of business. Complete analysis as needed regarding profitability, spreads, production, pipeline, customer segmentation, product segmentation, and related topics. 
  • Leverage financial systems and data tools to enhance forecasting, reporting, and analysis, ensuring metrics are aligned with the strategic plan and improving overall efficiency. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study. 
  • At least 4-6 years of progressive FP&A, Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, or Banking Finance experience with direct responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive-level financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Excel, including advanced formulas such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, HLOOKUPs and SUMIFs. 
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or strategic planning. 
  • Proficient with handling large sets of data. 
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to work with various professional groups in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Banking, financial services, or regulated financial institution experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting business leaders with strategic financial insights and performance reporting preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. May also involve travel to customers and property locations.

 

HAZARDS:

The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting and those present in commuting by car. Occasionally, they may be exposed to those conditions present in public forums and meeting places.

Pay Details:

$100,000 - $115,000 annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.

This role is eligible to participate in an incentive plan, based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
