Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate change order estimates for electrical, low voltage, mechanical, and specialty systems.

  • Review design and construction documents to identify changes in scope and quantify cost impacts.

  • Utilize estimating software and internal databases to generate cost projections, material takeoffs, and labor analysis.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to confirm constructability, labor needs, and project conditions.

  • Perform pricing and cost analysis for materials, subcontractors, and labor to ensure accuracy and profitability.

  • Draft and review bid documents, ensuring consistency with Power Design’s standards and client requirements.

  • Support preconstruction and field operations by ensuring all change order estimates are completed in a timely, professional manner.

  • Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and process improvements.

  • Ensure documentation accuracy and version control in estimating platforms.

  • Participate in onboarding and mentorship for junior estimators and associate team members.

  • Demonstrate and uphold Power Design’s core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or Journeyman’s license (or industry equivalent) plus 2+ years of relevant estimating experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam or other PDF-editing software.

  • Experience using estimating software (such as ConEST or Accubid) required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of financial and operational drivers that impact project success.
