Job description

TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Odessa, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience performing dimensional, visual, and thread inspections in an oilfield, pipe, rental tool, or CNC manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible for verifying that manufactured and customer-owned components meet API, premium, and customer specifications before release. Candidates with rotary shoulder knowledge are strongly preferred. Must also be willing to assist around the shop or office when the QC department is slow.


Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional, visual, and thread inspections on manufactured and customer-owned components
  • Inspect threads, seals, machined surfaces, and related oilfield components
  • Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, ring gauges, plug gauges, lead gauges, taper gauges, and profile gauges
  • Verify parts meet API, premium, and customer specifications before release
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, thread specifications, and inspection requirements
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain proper part traceability
  • Identify and report non-conforming products
  • Work with the Lead Inspector and Quality Manager to resolve quality issues
  • Follow company quality procedures, safety standards, and 5S practices
  • Assist with shop or office duties as needed when QC workload is slow


Requirements

  • Previous quality control inspection experience required
  • Experience in oilfield, pipe, rental tool, CNC, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Hands-on experience with dimensional, visual, and thread inspections
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, ring/plug gauges, lead gauges, taper gauges, and profile gauges
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, thread specs, and inspection documentation
  • API thread procedure experience preferred
  • Rotary shoulder connection knowledge strongly preferred
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently and follow quality/safety procedures
  • Must be willing to help in the shop or office when needed
