Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Bellevue, WA that is seeking a Software Development Engineer.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team in building and maintaining compliance tools leveraging AWS services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud-native development and experience with AWS services.
A Day in the Life:
As a Software Development Engineer, you turn compliance requirements into reliable, production-ready software. One day, you are designing a case management workflow that routes regulator communications to the right team within service-level agreements. The next, you are building an event-driven pipeline that detects when a service disruption crosses a country-specific reporting threshold and generates the required notification. You regularly meet with compliance and legal stakeholders to understand new obligations, then translate those into system designs. You also maintain and improve existing tools by tightening observability, hardening security controls, and reducing operational burden so the team can focus on net-new automation.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* 5+ years of software development experience
* Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Javascript/HTML/CSS/preferred)
* Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
* Strong experience with AWS services

* Communication skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
