Application Support Analyst

Role Summary:

Due to ongoing growth and strategic initiatives, our Client is seeking to appoint a highly skilled Support Analyst. This role is vital to maintaining optimal system performance and support for core banking applications and supporting infrastructure. It presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute directly to the operational excellence of a well-respected organisation in the financial sector.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide prompt resolution to technical issues, minimising system downtime across various user areas.
  • Support application maintenance tasks for essential systems, including payment and transaction processing tools.
  • Assist with daily operations within the Computer Operations team and provide backup coverage for shift personnel.
  • Test and deploy new system applications, updates, and hardware/software support solutions.
  • Address user inquiries regarding technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement system solutions aligned with user requests and specifications.
  • Manage System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases for new system rollouts.
  • Prepare and follow change control procedures during system upgrades and modifications.
  • Support and maintain core banking systems, network servers, and critical applications.
  • Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory policies, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and related standards.
  • Support external network testing, disaster recovery exercises, and regular system health reviews.
  • Complete all mandated training, including ISO and regulatory standards, within stipulated timeframes.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support operational objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in computer operations and system support, particularly within banking environments.
  • Proven expertise working with AS400 systems and related applications.
  • Practical experience with payment applications such as Equation and eGifts, or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server environments and client-server architectures.
  • Experience supporting and managing databases, including MS Access, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based solutions and SaaS applications relevant to banking is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage system upgrades, perform troubleshooting, and maintain high availability systems.
  • Relevant industry certifications and a relevant college or technical qualification.

Desirable Skills & Experience:


  • Experience automating batch jobs and routine system tasks.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and technologies related to cyber security and data integrity.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards applicable to financial institutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors to resolve system issues efficiently.
