    Job description

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fleet Control Manager (FCM) to join our growing autonomous operations team.

    This role is critical to ensuring the safe, stable, and high-performance operation of our autonomous vehicle fleet. As the primary control room leader, you will oversee all live fleet activity, manage the day-to-day responsibilities of on-site teams, and serve as the central hub for real-time decision-making and incident resolution.

    The ideal candidate has experience in logistics, fleet management, or control center operations-preferably within a technology-driven or autonomous vehicle environment. You are both a strategic planner and a decisive operator, capable of navigating complexity, leading teams, and delivering on operational goals with a relentless focus on safety, performance, and customer service

    Responsibilities

    Operations & Fleet Oversight

    • Monitor and control the autonomous fleet via advanced offboard systems and visual dashboards.
    • Maintain real-time situational awareness of all fleet activity, vehicle status, and environmental conditions.
    • Lead execution of operational plans and schedules, adjusting in real time as needed to maintain performance and safety.

    Team Leadership

    • Directly manage and support Field Operators (FOs) and drivers ensuring proper staffing, briefings, and alignment to the operational plan.
    • Conduct regular team meetings, performance check-ins, and skill development activities.
    • Foster a team culture rooted in safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Incident Management

    • Serve as the primary decision-maker during operational deviations, emergencies, or system alerts.
    • Lead incident response, coordinating with support teams, on-site personnel, and leadership to resolve issues promptly.
    • Ensure accurate logging, communication, and escalation of all deviations and safety events.

    Customer Engagement

    • Align daily operations with customer expectations and contractual service levels.
    • Collaborate with customers on planning, contingencies, and real-time operational decisions.
    • Act as a key point of contact for client communication during live operations.

    Resource & System Management

    • Plan and coordinate human and vehicle resources to ensure uninterrupted service.
    • Utilize control systems to track vehicle behavior, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate support.
    • Partner with engineering and operations leadership to improve system performance and reliability.

    Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Compliance

    • Champion safety across all operational activities.
    • Monitor environmental and safety conditions using system sensors and live feeds.
    • Enforce all safety protocols, including weather assessments, emergency stops, and site lockdowns when required.

    Minimum Requirements

    * Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of technical project/program management experience

    OR

    * Master's degree and no experience

    OR

    * At least 3 years of technical project/program management experience

    Additional Requirements

    * Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
