Physician - Thoracic Surgery

Physician - Thoracic Surgery -- Mon Medical Center Main Campus - 54418

Department: Thoracic Oncology

Exempt from overtime: Yes

Job Summary:

The physician provides clinical care to a vast array of patients who require Thoracic Surgery & Oncology services in a hospital setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of accredited medical school.

Board certified or board eligible in thoracic surgery.

Experience/Physical Requirements: Experience in group practice and/or hospital setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current unrestricted West Virginia licensure. Current West Virginia Federal Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate or ability to obtain at time of appointment. Fully credentialed according to Mon Health's section of Thoracic Surgery Services.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and document all applicable required education and job knowledge ensuring licensure, credentials and continuing education are actively maintained and timely.
  • Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.

  • Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.
  • Perform work in a cost effective manner.
  • Attend mandatory in-service, staff meetings and medical staff meetings as required.
  • Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.
  • Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.
  • Completes all required competencies on time.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
