Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Production Assistant to work Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at our North Park Location in Fenton, MI.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Provides daily administrative, scheduling, documentation, and floor-support assistance to Production.
  • Maintains meeting notes, safety paperwork, budget updates, material coordination, release documentation, and shop communication.
  • Track employee time by department, work area, project, unit, and task.
  • Maintain daily attendance sheets, including absences, tardies, PTO, departures, and assignment changes.
  • Record meeting minutes, action items, open issues, owners, and follow-up dates.
  • Track unresolved production issues and follow up as needed.
  • Coordinate toolbox talks and required safety sheets.
  • Scan and upload completed safety documentation to the EHS shared drive.
  • Assist with ERP (GSS) budget tracking for labor, materials, and project updates.
  • Track materials and purchase orders to support availability.
  • Follow up on shortages, delivery concerns, and PO questions.
  • Create and maintain accurate release books for production use.
  • Prepare and distribute shop prints to supervisors and work areas.
  • Update and organize production documents, trackers, and print packages.
  • Run materials, documents, prints, and supplies between shops as needed.
  • Identify and communicate obstacles affecting safety, quality, schedule, labor, or materials.
  • Attend new hire interviews as requested.
  • Conduct floor tours for candidates and new hires.
  • Support onboarding communication and route initial paperwork or floor information.

What Requirements Are Needed
High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience in similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple trackers, forms, and deadlines at the same time.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, production employees, project managers, purchasing, EHS, quality, and other departments.
  • High attention to detail when entering time, attendance, budget, material, and meeting information.
  • Ability to follow up on open items and escalate issues when needed.
  • Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments.
  • Basic computer skills, including document management, scanning, file uploads, spreadsheets, and production tracking systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee attendance, interview information, and internal production records.
  • Must be able to move between office areas and production shops throughout the day.
  • Must be able to walk the production floor, conduct floor tours, and transport paperwork or small materials between work areas as needed.
  • Must follow all required PPE and safety rules while on the production floor.
  • May be required to lift or carry light materials, document packages, prints, or supplies as needed.
