ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst for a 12-month hybrid contract position based in Pittsburgh, PA. Under the general direction of the management team and senior staff, the Systems Analyst will provide analytical services, including defining requirements, developing and maintaining computer applications and systems, and delivering IT and business solutions. This role will focus on application support with a strong emphasis on integration for Patient Engagement systems, including Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS), Nurse Call, and Telesitting/Virtual Nursing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, and possess a thorough understanding of the system development life cycle (SDLC). Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous self-development are essential for success in this role.

  • Manage projects related to supported applications, including task distribution, milestone tracking, and updating project management/time tracking tools
  • Act as the primary contact for vendor relationships, independently handling technical issues, project initiatives, and issue escalation
  • Identify, manage, and implement process improvements; create and update processes as needed
  • Oversee application upgrades and implementations, identifying new functionality and hardware requirements
  • Document and implement change management processes for assigned software applications
  • Demonstrate clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication to build relationships and accomplish day-to-day work and projects
  • Create training content and facilitate detailed end user and peer training sessions
  • Produce detailed documentation for new and moderately complex processes; extract and document customer/business requirements for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams
  • Independently triage and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 support issues, including maintenance activities; mentor less experienced staff in issue resolution
  • Create, review, and validate test plans; manage cutover plans (including downtime) and coordinate efforts across multiple platforms
  • Apply proficient understanding of multiple system/application development life cycles (SDLC)
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times
  • Ensure data quality in all supported systems and processes
  • Collaborate with team members, embrace a team-first approach, and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Pursue continuous self-study, training, and professional development; seek and incorporate feedback from senior team members
  • Handle problem management as appropriate
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support during assigned weeks (rotation frequency varies based on team size)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 3+ years' experience with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience
  • Proficient understanding of information technology tools and concepts, including SDLC, and ability to apply this knowledge independently
  • Experience supporting and integrating Patient Engagement systems (RTLS, Nurse Call, Telesitting/Virtual Nursing)
  • Strong project management skills, including task distribution, milestone tracking, and use of project management/time tracking tools
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with vendors and manage issue escalation independently
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Experience with application upgrades and implementation, including identifying new functionality and hardware requirements
  • Ability to document and implement change management processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and accomplish work collaboratively
  • Ability to create and facilitate end user and peer training sessions, including developing training content
  • Detail-oriented documentation skills for processes and requirements; ability to extract and document business needs for technical teams
  • Experience providing Level 2 and Level 3 support and mentoring staff in issue resolution
  • Ability to create, review, and validate test plans and cutover plans, and coordinate efforts across platforms
  • Maintains data confidentiality and quality at all times
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, embracing a team-first approach
  • Highly driven and self-motivated to meet expectations and adapt to changing project needs
