Compensation: $45-$50 per hour
Contract Length: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Clinical Engagement Specialist II to provide project leadership and clinical application expertise aimed at enhancing the adoption, utilization, and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) and clinical technology systems. This role acts as a liaison among clinical stakeholders, operational leaders, IT field services, application and informatics teams, and vendors, leading workflow improvements, education, system optimization, and implementation initiatives to improve efficiency, user experience, and continuity of care. The specialist will serve as a peer leader and subject matter expert in clinical workflows and EHR functionality, develop and deliver training, coordinate project activities, and drive process improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience, an active clinical license or healthcare certification, and at least five years of experience in a complex healthcare environment. Strong project coordination, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and promote technology adoption across large user groups. This is a 6-month onsite contract position in Phoenix, AZ, with standard weekday hours and an immediate start date.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide project leadership and clinical application expertise to improve adoption, utilization, and optimization of EHR and clinical technology systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical stakeholders, operational leaders, IT field services, application teams, informatics teams, and vendors.
  • Lead workflow improvement, education, testing, system optimization, and implementation initiatives to enhance efficiency, user experience, and continuity of care.
  • Develop and deliver staff assessments, training programs, documentation standards, and user-support strategies to improve awareness and effectiveness of clinical application support services.
  • Mentor peers and promote consistent best practices across teams.
  • Use system and utilization data to identify workflow, adoption, and education opportunities; lead process-improvement initiatives related to EHR and clinical applications.
  • Develop recommendations that align clinical needs with technology capabilities; monitor solution usage, establish user groups, and implement action plans to improve adoption.
  • Coordinate clinical application projects, enhancements, testing, implementations, and ongoing support; track project activities, risks, decisions, results, and follow-up actions.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from users, IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to define workflow concerns, system issues, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to resolve conflicts between technology and workflow; evaluate workflows across departments and specialties to identify gaps and standardization opportunities.
  • Lead workgroups and improvement initiatives related to clinical applications, policies, and procedures; influence stakeholders and promote adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of EHR functionality, clinical workflows, interoperability, quality measures, and system-wide initiatives; research healthcare technology trends, regulatory requirements, clinical practices, and emerging EHR capabilities.
  • Support users and project teams with complex clinical application issues; promote effective and innovative use of clinical technology.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary activities related to the planning, implementation, modification, and support of clinical information systems.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, clinical staff, medical staff, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Provide implementation and end-user support, including occasional travel and on-call coverage as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, business discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Active clinical license or applicable healthcare certification.
  • Five or more years of experience in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Working knowledge of clinical workflows, EHR systems, and integrated clinical applications.
  • Proficiency with standard office and productivity applications.
  • Strong project coordination, critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with technical, clinical, and executive audiences.
