Job description

AccuScan Sciences is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to join our innovative team. In this role, you will support various research projects focusing on assay development and clinical validation. You will assist in experimental design, data collection, and analysis while collaborating with scientists to advance our MRD assay.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process specimen shipments
  • Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
  • Conduct testing under supervision of a senior staff
  • Perform routine technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Contribute to molecular biology and genomics workflow development and improvements
  • Ensure accurate and consistent recording of experiment methods, materials and results; keep a high-quality laboratory notebook
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe lab environment
  • Assist with safety, hazardous waste, and facilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Adjust work schedule to meet time-sensitive project milestones

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science or equivalent
  • One year of experience working in a lab setting
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory safety and protocol
  • Skilled in working with basic laboratory equipment
  • Strong understanding of standard molecular biology techniques (such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA isolation)
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including data entry, spreadsheets, and document preparation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a research laboratory setting.
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies.
