Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Database Administrator in New York, NY.
Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle, Postgres SQL and Oracle GoldenGate to manage, optimize, and support enterprise data platforms. This role will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and seamless data replication across heterogeneous systems, enabling real-time data integration and business continuity.
Responsibilities:
PostgreSQL (Amazon RDS) Administration:
* Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance
* Perform database provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning
* Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexing strategies, and resource utilization
* Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies (snapshots, PITR, cross-region replication)
* Ensure database security, compliance, and access controls (IAM integration, encryption, auditing)
* Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Python, Shell) and AWS services
Oracle GoldenGate Administration:
* Design, implement, and manage Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication and integration
* Configure Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes across heterogeneous databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
* Monitor replication latency, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data consistency and integrity
* Perform upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of GoldenGate environments
* Support data migration, CDC (Change Data Capture), and zero-downtime migration initiatives
* Implement best practices for high availability and failover in replication architecture
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology field preferred
* Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Database Technologies
* Strong working knowledge of ITIL principles and ITSM
* Current understanding of industry trends and methodologies
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
