Job description

Tool Crib Attendant 2nd Shift
Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC), a dynamic fresh pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana, is looking for a motivated Tool Crib Attendant to join our team at our world-class processing facility.
This role will provide tools needed throughout the plant. It requires daily record keeping, data entry and inventory control.
Shift hours are Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm for second shift. Some weekends and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, materials, and equipment in and out of the tool crib
  • Maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or using computer
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment
  • Maintains inventory of tools and equipment
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory
  • Delivers tools or equipment to workers within the facility, manually or using hand truck
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool
  • Sends parts for repair and follows up on status
  • Communicates potential supply problems to maintenance supervisor and purchasing
  • Inputs data for maintenance/repair activities (plans/results) into computerized maintenance management system.
  • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
  • All employees are expected to adhere to their schedule working hours and attend work consistently to ensure smooth operations and effective teamwork.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Relevant experience with tool crib preferred
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft and ERP systems
  • Forklift Certified and material handling skills preferred. Ability to acquire certification required
  • Basic math skills for verification of receipt quantities
  • Ability to work independently and identify solutions with very little supervision.
  • Ability to read and comprehend various prints, schematics and other company related documents
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and Resourceful in accomplishing tasks
  • Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional team members
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
Physical Demand:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects up to 75 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.
