Job description

Title: Inventory Control Analyst
Location: Independence, MO
Salary: $63,200 - $80,100 depending on experience
Schedule: 9/80 Schedule
Focus: The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management within the organization. This role involves tracking inventory levels, ensuring proper material movement, resolving discrepancies, and working closely with multiple departments to optimize inventory processes. The Inventory Control Analyst will play a key role in supporting production, logistics, and warehouse operations to ensure smooth material flow and accurate reporting.
Inventory Control Analyst Job Functions:
  • Input, evaluate, and verify daily production scrap and material movement transactions while overseeing ERP system issues, ensuring timely resolution with relevant functions.
  • Investigate and resolve material movement errors, propose corrective actions or system enhancements, and administer inventories by identifying out-of-tolerance root causes and taking corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the transfer of materials between production departments, facilities, and vendors, and assist in consistent cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Direct or lead teams to ensure the accuracy of yearly physical inventory and collaborate with Operations and Program teams to maintain accurate production, scrap, and usage reports.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across material management and production processes.

Inventory Control Analyst Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree *in Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Inventory Control, Logistics, or Warehouse Management.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills, along with analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems, particularly CostPoint, is preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and capable of managing multiple projects under pressure.
  • A strong customer focus, commitment to continuous improvement, and knowledge of Winchester manufacturing operations or products are highly preferred.

Location-Specific Requirements:
  • Must possess a Valid US driver's license.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
