Job description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a highly motivated Margin and Collateral Specialist to join our PostTrade team. Our global trading platform supports trading across many asset classes and geographies, and the PostTrade team designs and operates the systems and processes that reconcile the firm's trading with our various brokers and counterparties. Due to the high volume of trades and complexity of the system, we rely heavily on automation and are looking for candidates who have exceptional attention to detail.
Being a member of the PostTrade team means working as part of a tight-knit, highly productive team. Strategic Initiatives is a growing priority for the team and we're looking for someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit and loves utilizing technology and automation tools to work on a wide scope of operational projects.
About You
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong aptitude for building clean, scalable systems from the ground up, especially when working with complex data
  • You are analytical, detail-oriented, and understand the importance of accurate margin data for managing risk, funding, and capital
  • You take ownership of problems and are driven to improve systems through thoughtful, end-to-end solutions
  • You thrive in collaborative environments and work seamlessly across technical and non-technical teams

Responsibilities
  • Execute daily collateral functions around margin data management, margin reconciliation and handling disputes
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support margin replication, cost of capital analytics, and reconciliation workflows
  • Architect and maintain a centralized margin and collateral data platform for external margin data storage
  • Document and maintain margin mappings and controls
  • Support onboarding of new counterparties and ensuring data integration aligns with system architecture
  • Stay informed about evolving margin models and broker reporting practices and help translate them into scalable internal systems

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Collateral, Margin, or Treasury function
  • Strong understanding of margining practices and products (OTC derivatives, futures, cleared swaps)
  • Ability to design and optimize tools in close collaboration with engineering teams; SQL and/or Python familiarity is a plus
  • Clear communicator with strong documentation habits and cross-functional collaboration skills

The estimated base salary range for this position is 100,000 to 130,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
