Job description

  • Host live and/or voice-tracked air shifts while delivering an entertaining, authentic, and engaging presentation.
  • Prepare compelling on-air content including topical breaks, artist information, lifestyle content, and local community stories.
  • Operate broadcast automation systems and studio equipment in accordance with FCC regulations and company policies.
  • Record commercial, promotional, and imaging production as assigned.
  • Create original digital content for station websites, social media platforms, podcasts, and mobile apps.
  • Participate in station promotions, contests, remote broadcasts, and community appearances.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional social media presence that supports the Q102 brand.
  • Collaborate with programming, promotions, sales, and digital teams on station initiatives.
  • Represent station and clients through endorsement and influencer programs.
  • Monitor music, entertainment, and pop culture trends to ensure relevant, timely content.
  • Maintain accurate program logs and complete required administrative duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous on-air radio experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and improvisational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of current hit music, entertainment, pop culture, and social media trends.
  • Ability to connect with listeners in a genuine and conversational style.
  • Experience with radio automation systems and audio editing software is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and fill-in opportunities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for station appearances.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with strong content development abilities.
  • Comfortable creating audio, video, and social-first content.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor when representing Hubbard Radio in public.
  • Ability to accept coaching and continually develop on-air performance.
  • Physical Requirements - Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to multi-task with a variety of duties while producing the show. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate computer keys and board controls as well as general office equipment (telephone, copier, etc.) for extended periods of time. Wear headsets and be confined to a specific space during the course of work. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
