Job description

Position Overview

A leading commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee large-scale ground-up commercial projects across Orlando and Central Florida. The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple subcontractors while maintaining schedule, safety, and quality standards.

This role requires 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably with large-scale projects. Occasional travel throughout Central Florida is expected.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations for large-scale ground up projects.
  • Manage subcontractors, manpower, equipment, and jobsite logistics.
  • Maintain project schedules, two‑week look‑aheads, and daily reporting.
  • Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality‑control activities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals for accuracy.
  • Oversee installation of structural steel, PEMB systems, CMU, slab work, MEP trades, and interior build‑outs.
  • Conduct site walks with owners, architects, and project managers.
  • Resolve field issues quickly to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
  • Support project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation.


Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial projects.
  • Experience with large-scale construction projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Proficiency with daily logs, scheduling tools, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Central Florida.
