Summary
It is the responsibility of the Manager Warehouse Freight Equipment for providing department oversight and direction to maximize operational effectiveness. Manages all team members through coaching, counseling, mentorship, and development of staff assigned to the freight operations department at the branch level. Develops and manages effective work procedures, business workflow, and corresponding work schedules to meet business demands. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies and regulations, holding self and team accountable, actively communicating safety expectations, and supporting continuous improvement in safety practices.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Las Vegas, NV.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the freight warehouse staff to ensure operational effectiveness in all business matters including truck drivers, equipment staff, and mechanics. Provide on-going supervision, direction, and development to achieve operational goals.
  • Advise and counsel team members on the care and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
  • Develop and implement work process and workflow that meets the demands of the department.
  • Forecast planning of labor for needs of drivers, equipment, mechanics.
  • Forecast planning of equipment needs including forklifts, carts, tractor, and trailers.
  • Forecast planning for storage lots and security needs.
  • Procure equipment and resources to meet the needs of our business.
  • Provide oversight and direction to all subordinates to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct safety and general meetings on a regular basis.
  • Develop and implements procedures and policies for greater efficiency and department effectiveness. Issue written and oral instructions to team members on pertinent operating issues and direction.
  • Schedule labor and hours of work, including drivers to comply with DOT hours of service. Schedules delivery of additional equipment required at the show site.
  • Coaches drivers on hours of service, load securement, ELD usage, and trailer tracking.
  • Communicate all corporate communications and redivisions to policies and procedures to all reporting team members.
  • Develop and implements work procedures, and policies for the freight warehouse.
  • Interview, hire, trains all freight warehouse staff to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings and training as needed.
  • Ensure all Freeman, department policies & procedures are communicated, and facility rules are followed in a consistent manner.
  • Perform inquiries & reports in Freeman computer systems.
  • Communicate and reinforce company safety objectives, programs, and policies within the team. Ensure employees complete required training and understand their safety responsibilities.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA regulations.
  • Investigate and document workplace accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead by example by encouraging open communication on safety concerns and fostering accountability for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Track and review safety performance metrics, using insights to support decision-making and corrective actions.
  • Perform other management duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • College degree (BA) preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6+ years of industry related experience preferred.
  • 6+ years of management experience in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing supervisory roles.
  • Experience and understanding of all material handling rates and show rules & regulations.
  • Specific experience with computer systems and web-based systems. Strong knowledge and practical experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience to pass an MVR screen.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and uphold safety policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to a proactive safety culture that reduces incidents and improves safety outcomes.

OSHA 30 Certification required.
