Technical Business Analyst
About your Role
You will facilitate cross-functional collaboration among business teams, project managers, development teams, quality assurance teams, clients, and payment schemes. You will be responsible for gathering, documenting, communicating, and translating business requirements into actionable development tasks.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial industry, a strong understanding of application interfaces and end-to-end flows, and the ability to translate regulatory and business changes into clear functional requirements.
What you'll do
  • Collaborate with business teams, project managers, development teams, and quality assurance teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Identify key milestone features and dependencies while working closely with multiple development teams and write user stories to capture functional changes in dispute processing and conduct walkthroughs of proposed changes with development teams and clarify requirements, assumptions, and open questions.
  • Partner with clients and payment schemes to design new enhancements and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop use cases, user stories, functional specifications, and requirement documents for developers and review requirements with development and testing teams to ensure clear understanding and alignment on project goals.
  • Define requirements for new collections software and assess existing software for feature gaps and map user journeys to test scripts and identify gaps in quality standards.
  • Validate test results against original requirements and convert functional issues found during testing into new or updated requirements as needed.
  • Provide post-implementation support and assist with backlog management.
  • Use Postman and API knowledge to support analysis, validate technical flows, and better understand system integrations.

Experience you'll need to have
  • 6+ years' experience preferably in the financial technology industry, specifically in disputes processing or a related domain.
  • 3+ years' experience in APIs, including the ability to run API requests in Postman and understand technical flows and system interfaces.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end application interfacing and dispute lifecycle flows.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience that would be great to have
  • Experience working directly with clients and payment schemes.
  • Ability to write Gherkin based acceptance criteria is a huge plus.
  • Experience in banking software requirements or related financial services platforms.
  • Familiarity with QA processes, test validation, and traceability between business requirements and test cases.

How you'll work
  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel
  • Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.

Salary Range
$90,000.00 - $158,400.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
