    About the Opportunity
    This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Under direct supervision, tests, installs, maintains, and makes minor repairs on all makes and types of single-phase, self-contained watt-hour meters.
    • Makes voltage and load tests.
    • Investigates consumer complaints; correct the conditions or reports it to the proper authority.
    • May be required to read, install or remove meters; reconnect and disconnect meters and
      services, assist Field Testers 1st and 2nd Class or perform other related or less skilled work as
      directed.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available.
    • Must be a high school graduate with a good background in the sciences including Algebra, Plane and Solid Geometry, Trigonometry, and Physics, plus courses in electrical theory and electronics.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license.

    We administer selection tests for a variety of positions. The required tests have been developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade association of investor-owned electric utility companies.  We strongly encourage potential employees to review all information, including the sample test brochures, and to use the available practice tests before taking the actual tests.  Click this link to access the practice tests.
