Job description

Principal Engineer - Software (Dish Network LLC, Englewood, Colorado) Provide hands on full stack development using Java, SpringBoot, Webservice/Rest services, React JS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JQuery. Design, implement, and maintain code within a test-driven development environment. Contribute in a fast paced, collaborative team environment using agile methodology principles. Collaborate with across the organization to understand requirements, expectations and present technical solutions. Review developer code and project deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to established standards. Contribute to backend API standards and participate in API review activities. Participate in platform-level technical design and architecture discussions. Perform root cause analysis of production issues and implement recommendations. Develop technical solutions for complex business problems related to the Work Force Management System. Convert documented requirements and user stories into object-oriented, pattern-based code using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and JavaScript frameworks. Solve technical problems involving diverse variables using Java Spring Boot, JavaScript, and IntelliJ. Maintain and support existing systems and services, with a focus on the Workforce Management System, using React/Redux, Java Spring Boot, and IntelliJ. Perform Java/J2EE object-oriented, pattern-based development. Deliver software in an Agile environment using SCRUM/XP methodologies and open-source frameworks such as Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot. Develop and maintain SOAP and REST web services. Implement microservices architectures, including working with API gateways. Use Docker for operating-system-level virtualization and Jenkins for automated builds and deployments. Assist junior developers by providing technical guidance as needed. Salary: $142,314 - $181,500 per year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise applications. Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience utilizing issue-tracking tools (including Jira) for defect tracking and project management. 3 years of professional experience utilizing object-relational mapping (ORM) frameworks (including Hibernate). 3 years of professional experience developing applications using J2EE (Java EE) technologies. 3 years of professional experience performing unit testing using JUnit or JUnit 5. 3 years of professional experience developing applications using Spring MVC, Spring Boot, or Spring Data JPA. 3 years of professional experience deploying application code to test and production environments. 3 years of professional experience maintaining and supporting production applications, including monitoring production environments, identifying defects, and implementing fixes. 3 years of experience delivering software projects in Agile environment using SCRUM/XP methodologies. 1 year of professional experience designing and developing RESTful web services.
