Job description
Position Summary
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing and reporting the health and performance of portfolios and company-wide initiatives at the enterprise level. They create new or improve existing portfolio management processes, practices, work products, templates, and tools to successfully achieve business objectives and quality project execution within the portfolio. Portfolio Managers work with Technology teams, Managers, Agile teams, Vendors, and Business Stakeholders to implement the portfolio and project management practices, ensuring they are understood, adopted, and flexible in meeting the needs of users.
In collaboration with the Portfolio Leadership, they ensure that large company sponsored initiatives meet expectations from key stakeholders and are delivered within agreed upon timeframes. Portfolio Managers identify and manage risks accordingly and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are put in place. They analyze and report out on Portfolio KPIs and provide the necessary details to the Portfolio Leadership to facilitate effective decision making. They also use appropriate Project Management tools to ensure the overall initiative is delivered successfully.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
Drives portfolio management processes to ensure strategic alignment with the Enterprise Agility goals and principles.
Serves the Portfolio as the subject matter expert (SME) with respect to the corporate agile processes and coaches’ portfolio and EPO team members, as necessary.
Understands the work undertaken by the portfolio and is able to articulate that along with the status of the work, in non-technical forums.
Develops reporting metrics and portfolio dashboards to create visibility into areas, such as portfolio performance against KPI’s, portfolio roadmap, delivery timelines, resources, and/or budget.
Partners with Product Managers and Delivery Manager, to collect, interpret, and accurately depict work status along with staffing risks and dependencies for the Portfolio and cross-portfolio initiatives.
Aligns with Portfolio Owners regularly to make decisions and/or act on risks in a timely manner.
Communicates the status of the initiative, features, portfolio health, and KPIs at the various portfolio and corporate ceremonies in a professional non-technical manner.
Leads Enterprise wide and/or Portfolio specific initiatives by collaborating with Business Stakeholders, Product and Delivery teams, and Vendors.
Provides administrative support to the Portfolio and Enterprise Agility Leadership and leads ceremonies as specified in the customized Agile framework (Playbook).
Evaluates and identifies areas of improvements and surfaces them via retrospectives to serve towards continuous improvement for Enterprise Agility.
Exercises credibility in the creation and maintaining of artifacts, such as RACIs, schedules, risks/issue/decisions logs, meeting minutes, and lessons learned artifacts.
Understands the importance of incorporating other bodies of knowledge and practices, such as Agile, Project Management, Change Management, and Lean Six Sigma, to ensure optimal success.
Teaches, mentors, and is a part of a culture that fosters teamwork, growth, and development.
Uses communication and organizational skills and experiences to actively participate as a part of a collaborating EPO team.
Develops presentation material and presents to all levels.

Required:5+ years’ experience in Portfolio and/or Project Management.
