Who We Are

The Lynnwood Event Center, operated by The District, is where our community comes together. From weddings and galas to trade shows, festivals, and community celebrations, we create spaces where people connect, celebrate, learn, and make lasting memories.

Every event hosted at the Lynnwood Event Center strengthens our community, supports local businesses, welcomes visitors from across the region, and contributes to Lynnwood's continued growth. Together, we're helping build a destination where people want to gather today and for generations to come.

Why Work For Us

You'll join a team that values Transform, Trust, Thoughtfulness, and Teamwork while working alongside passionate professionals who believe great events create lasting connections. If you enjoy building relationships, creating opportunities, and making a meaningful impact, you'll find more than a career here. You'll help shape the future of Lynnwood.

More Than a Job

Every event has the power to bring people together. In this role, you'll help create a place where our community celebrates milestones, shares ideas, supports local organizations, and creates lasting memories. Your work will help transform the Lynnwood Event Center into more than a venue. Together, we're building the heart of Lynnwood.

Position Summary

The Sales Manager, Social & Public Events serves as the primary point of contact for social, community, and public event opportunities at the Lynnwood Event Center. This role builds meaningful relationships, guides clients through the sales process, and helps create a dynamic event calendar that brings people together and supports the District's mission.

Reporting to the General Manager, this position works independently while partnering closely with the Senior Sales Manager to ensure a balanced event calendar and exceptional client experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for social and public event inquiries from initial contact through contract execution.
  • Conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, negotiate agreements, and guide clients through the booking process.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, promoters, businesses, and other partners to create new event opportunities.
  • Develop partnerships that increase community engagement and encourage repeat business.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop event packages that meet client needs while supporting venue goals.
  • Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, and forecasting within the event management system.
  • Partner with the Senior Sales Manager and General Manager to maximize calendar utilization and support long-term booking strategies.
  • Represent the Lynnwood Event Center at community events, shows, networking opportunities, and industry functions.

  • Two (2) or more years of event sales, venue sales, hospitality sales, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships and converting inquiries into booked events.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Experience managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of event pricing, food and beverage minimums, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM or event management software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as business needs require.

The following qualifications will help you stand out:

  • Experience working in a convention center, hotel, or full-service event venue.
  • Experience with wedding, social, or community event sales.
  • Relationships with local nonprofits, community organizations, promoters, or event producers.
  • Experience booking consumer trade shows, expos, or public events.

Benefits

At The District, we believe in supporting our employees both professionally and personally. Eligible employees enjoy a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Washington State retirement
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
