Job description

RoundPoint is a fully integrated, non-bank mortgage servicing company with offices located in Fort Mill, SC, Dallas, TX. Our lines of business include loan origination, loan servicing, and the purchase and sale of Mortgage Servicing Rights.  As a Cash Operations Analyst within the loan servicing division, you will be supporting the Cash and Investor Reporting department expanding our capabilities to offer a best-in-class customer experience while managing large scale servicing acquisitions and transfers.

The Cash Operations Analyst assists the Cash and Investor Reporting department by performing tasks ranging from transaction processing, exception analysis to ensure account record accuracy, process improvement deliverables, account and process level root cause analysis, and vendor payment channel and process oversight to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.  The Cash Operations Analyst will work closely with other teams across the organization to ensure compatibility of business processes.  Finally, as part of the team, you will be looked towards to establish team culture, tools, processes, and to continuously build a better operating platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve account level and portfolio level issues and ensure exception volume and aging is maintained within SLAs, guidelines, and risk tolerances
  • Ensure systems are optimally configured to support loan-servicing operations based on the needs of our clients, business partners and investors
  • Leverage technologies available to process transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Analyze transactional data to identify situations where actual results differ from expected results
  • Conduct account and process level analysis utilizing knowledge of mortgage servicing processes to assist in process improvement initiatives
  • Monitor automated business processes involving an average of 5000+ transactions daily that has impact on borrower credit, portfolio metrics, and regulatory requirements  
  • Isolate, model, and replicate complex issues using tools available to understand, present and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate and interact with vendors and other business units to integrate internal and external processes
  • Build strong relationships with investors, clients, and other internal customers by serving as a point of contact for deliverables, questions and issues
  • Support management by providing qualitative insights to trends and exceptions, and process deficiencies, and assisting with the execution of enhancements and/or new controls
  • Assist with special projects required to meet the department goals, objectives and any other duties as assigned to meet department goals and objectives
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; as well as completing internal training and development to meet all RPMS compliance requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • BA/BS or 3-5 years’ experience in accounting or financial services related field.
  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency
  • Intermediate MS Office proficiency
  • The ability to quickly learn new systems and business processes
  • Proven data, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information and communicate insights effectively
  • Aptitude to carry out duties accurately and timely in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a high attention to detail and the ability to keep track of both the high-level progress and the small details
  • Ability to communicate in professional manner when dealing with peers of own department, vendors, inter-company contacts, and investors
  • Ability to manage change and navigate company structure
  • Desire to perform operational, analytical and governance related activities
  • Motivation to draw in additional work with limited direction
  • Capability to comprehend servicing regulations, investor guidelines, and other applicable agreements

Desired:

  • Mortgage servicing background with Investor Accounting experience
  • Certification from the Mortgage Bankers Association or other related professional organizations is a plus.
  • Prior 3-5 years’ experience within the financial industry. Secondary Marketing experience desirable.
  • MSP (Black Knight product) experience/knowledge is desired.
