Job Summary:

The Logistics Driver Manager exercises independent judgment and has the on-going oversight of a team of drivers and is actively involved in logistics, delivery operations and fleet coordination. This position is the primary link between the field drivers, the logistics office, and sales department ensuring that all routes are optimized and that deliveries remain on schedule. This role requires a leader who can analyze and troubleshoot logistical challenges, driver and other issues effectively and in a timely manner in support of the best outcome for business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning: Using Samsara software to create and analyze optimized routes, plan loads
  • Route Monitoring & Optimization: Use GPS and fleet management tools to supervise, direct and track drivers and their progress in real-time, ensuring adherence to planned routes and schedules
  • Team Leadership: Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation and feedback to drivers; provides training and on-boarding as needed
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve immediate driver concerns, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, or delivery discrepancies
  • Logistics Coordination: Provide frequent status updates to the logistics team regarding route completion, delays, and capacity
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS) rules, and company safety protocols
  • Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records of delivery issues, delay issues, vehicle maintenance needs as well as other support as needed; sets up, analyzes and reports KPI tracking indicators and develops efficient staffing and scheduling plans

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in transportation or logistics, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license, possess and maintain a driving record which meets Company insurability requirements
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal communication, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, push, carry, pull and move up to 50 lbs as required for delivery tasks
  • Scheduling and Flexibility: Must be able to work and maintain a flexible work schedule in support of business needs

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or other closely related field
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and ERP platforms
  • Knowledge of route planning, fleet management, and distribution optimization

  • Competitive salary package and benefits ($72,000 – $80,000 annual base salary range + target bonus earning potential).
