Job description

Overview
CORT Furniture Rental is hiring immediately for 2nd Shift Class A CDL Drivers in Paramount, California!
The Class A Driver plays an important role on our Operations team by safely transporting CORT products between locations using demountable/swap body trucks. This position is ideal for a skilled driver who enjoys variety, teamwork, and hands-on work. In addition to driving, you'll operate hydraulic lift systems, swap cargo bodies, load and unload product, and support deliveries, installations, and warehouse operations as needed.
Pay: $28 / hour. This position is also eligible for CORT's Performance Sharing Plan (PSP) bonus plan.
Schedule: Standard is Monday-Friday, 5:30PM to 01:30AM; some flexibility or overtime may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a Class A tractor and trailer on routes between CORT locations
  • Inspect, load, unload, and secure furniture for safe transport
  • Operate hydraulic lifts and swap body equipment safely
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and required DOT documentation
  • Review route paperwork and maintain accurate delivery records
  • Assist with furniture deliveries, pickups, setup, and installations while operating box trucks or other vehicles as needed
  • Provide professional customer service during deliveries and pickups
  • Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams to support efficient operations
  • Perform minor vehicle checks and warehouse duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid and current Class A driver's license in the state of residency
  • A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a tractor-trailer; 1 year of experience preferred
  • Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner
  • Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration regulations
    • Per FMSCA Regulations: Drivers must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
  • Ability to maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate, which includes passing a physical and drug screening
  • Ability to successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements
  • Acceptable MVR per CORT's Safe Driving Standards
