Position Overview

The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, managing chronic and acute cardiac conditions, coordinating care, and providing patient education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and laboratory results
  • Manage medications and monitor treatment effectiveness
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular health, treatment plans, and disease prevention
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development
Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current Physician Assistant licensure or eligibility in the State of Missouri
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current BLS certification
Preferred
  • Previous cardiology or cardiovascular experience
  • ACLS certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
