Job description

Title: 1st Class Pipe Fitter (CuNi)
Location: Lockport, LA
Position Overview:
Bollinger Shipyards is seeking a skilled 1st Class Pipe Fitter ( CuNi) to join our team. This role involves the layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems, with a particular focus on Copper Nickel (CuNi) piping. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to meet production and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Layout, fabricate, and install CuNi piping systems according to technical specifications.
  • Test and repair pipe systems as needed to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
  • Use precision tools and equipment, including grinders and sanders, to prepare pipes for installation.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of CuNi (Copper Nickel) pipe fitting experience.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Must successfully pass a hands-on pipe fitter test, which includes:
  • Creating a square cut on a CuNi pipe using a cutting grinder (Metabo).
  • Applying a bevel to the pipe using a grinder with a sanding disc.
  • Cutting the opposing end of the pipe to saddle a pipe of the same size at a 90-degree angle.
