Job description

Position Summary:
The Lead Payroll Specialist works as a member of a highly functioning team and supports weekly payroll processing. The Lead Payroll Specialist serves as an escalation person for unique payroll cases. In addition, the Lead Payroll Specialist is responsible for audits and imports, data analysis, posting payroll to the HRIS WorkForceNow, payroll reconciliations, using critical thinking to manage ad hoc projects and requests, driving process improvements, and oversight of daily and weekly payroll tax administration.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs accurate and timely payroll processing for hourly and/or salaried team members
  • Utilizes ADP and Central Reach systems for time and attendance gathering
  • Processes and reviews off-cycle checks, as needed
  • Reviews of pre-payroll reports for all hourly and/or salaried payrolls for errors and omissions
  • Supports bi-weekly payroll processing, comparing, and balancing which includes researching discrepancies and making corrections
  • Responds to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions in a timely manner
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and documentation of improvements for internal processes
  • Analyzes transactions for regulatory compliance in accordance with policies, procedures, and federal/state laws
  • Assist the payroll tax function to include partnering with other departments and/or third-party administrators to ensure timely filing of payroll tax returns and amendments and researching tax notices, overseeing weekly auditing processes and updates of payroll tax records.
  • Adheres to payroll internal controls, company policies and procedures, and practices
  • Stays abreast of multi-state regulatory requirements and company policies

Role Details: Remote Position Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm , during payroll weeks hours may be extended based on business needs
Pay Rate : 65,000-70,000 based on experience
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/ Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree from a college or university: or 3 to 4 years of related experience. Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment. Experience processing multi-state payroll is preferred.
Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of clients or employees.
Mathematical Ability: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Chrome, Internet Explorer).

Travel Requirements: Traveling as needed within region/territory. Have reliable means of transportation. Meet requirements of our Motor Vehicle policy.
