General Summary
Strategic leader responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating enterprise project management and continuous improvement teams to ensure successful delivery of business and technology initiatives.
Oversees project governance, portfolio management, organizational change control, and project execution while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Leads the development and maintenance of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, ensuring consistent and effective project delivery across the organization.
Partners with executive leadership, internal stakeholders, and external technology and business vendors to communicate project expectations, establish priorities, and drive successful outcomes.
Accountable for enterprise project portfolio management, including project intake, business case review, prioritization, resource alignment, performance measurement, risk management, and governance oversight.
Ensures project scope, schedules, budgets, communication plans, implementation plans, and quality management processes are effectively defined and managed.
Demonstrates strong leadership in guiding cross-functional business and technology teams through complex initiatives, delivering measurable results, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement while meeting or exceeding organizational objectives and budget requirements.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Tasks
Manage and oversee all personnel and functions within Project Management Office (PMO).
Develop and maintain standard project management methodologies based on Project Management Institute (PMI) framework and best practices.
Manage the project portfolio and ensure timely and accurate portfolio status reporting.
Coordinate with business units to ensure an understanding of the organization's capacity to complete projects in the portfolio.
Coordinate with sponsors and project managers for completion of project business cases, scope definition, timelines, budgets and other relevant project management documentation required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Manage the most complex and/or largest projects, including project recovery activities to include consulting or taking over projects in crisis.
Manage programs, including relationships and dependencies between projects and business unit initiatives.
Track data across the entire portfolio and maintain dashboards for reporting to executive leadership.
Lead project review board meetings, as needed.
Provide consulting to assist in pre and postproject activities, including project discovery/business case development, and ROI monitoring.
Champion quality across the project management office, and foster collaboration and project reviews among all project managers and business leads.
Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior or associate project managers including direct and indirect supervision, performance appraisals, and goal development.
Provide project management training and coaching to project management office and project leaders in the business units.
Identify clearly the project's scope, business requirements, approach, stakeholders, schedule, risks, acceptance criteria, and more.
Form and lead core teams of crossfunctional/crosssubsidiary subject matter experts, build accurate project schedules, track tasks and report on project progress until the product, service, and/or capability is tested and launched.
Integrate all aspects of the project, ensure that the proper knowledge and resources are available when and where needed and ensure that the expected results are produced in a timely, costeffective manner.
Resolve escalations/roadblocks identified by project teams and escalate to management when necessary for prompt resolution.
Perform timely and accurate project status reporting to all project stakeholders.
Maintain a repository of all projectrelated documents for use throughout the project.
Perform ongoing coordination with vendors and client organizations.
Assist management in the development of standard Project Management methodologies based on PMBOK standards with regards to project initiation, planning, execution, control and closure.
Participate in department strategic planning. Apply and measure department strategic goals to his/her own workload, when applicable.
Manage vendor relationships for projects requiring an outside vendor.
Keep project management knowledge and skills current by attending various training and professional development during the year.
Oversee projects run by the continuous improvement team.
Supports key process owners and stakeholders to identify and prioritize improvement efforts.
Perform feasibility and cost/benefit analysis for LSS projects.
Optimizes workload and schedule of all departmental staff
Drive continuous improvement utilizing LSS tools & methodologies.
Work with each department to identify and eliminate waste and improve efficiencies.
Present plans and status to all levels of management and other key stakeholders.
Serve as liaison between Business Units/Stakeholders and business/technology vendors that provide project related services.
Communicate company expectations to critical business/technology vendors that provide project related services and manage vendor performance.
Review and negotiate business/technology related contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of business/technology stakeholders.
Recognize opportunities for process improvements and champion process improvement recommendations and projects as needed.
Work closely with the ITS department and other internal customers to ensure projects are prioritized, managed, and completed timely.
Interview and make recommendations for hiring, terminating, promoting, demoting, orienting, evaluating, counseling, and salary changes for departmental personnel.
Attend meetings, seminars, and other events as required.
Maintain a close working relationship with management of all departments.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Required Minimum Education
Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Preferred Education
Prefer a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid United States Driver's License
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience
Required Minimum Experience
Requires seven years of project management experience, including planning, executing, governing, and delivering projects while managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
Requires five years of people management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, employee development, and leading teams in a project management environment.
Requires five years of project portfolio management experience within a PMO, consulting, or technology environment.
Preferred Experience
Healthcare, life sciences, medical device, blood services, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.
Experience working with and supporting compliance requirements associated with regulatory and accreditation organizations, including FDA, ISBT, ISO, AABB, and other applicable governing bodies preferred.
Experience negotiating, managing, and overseeing business and technology vendor contracts, statements of work (SOWs), and service agreements preferred.
Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies, including process optimization, waste reduction, and operational excellence initiatives preferred.
Experience leading organizational change management and business transformation initiatives preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant project and process improvement certifications preferred.
Knowledge
Must maintain a thorough understanding of and comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), organizational policies, and project governance standards.
Must maintain working knowledge of applicable regulatory, quality, and safety requirements, including FDA, EU, ISO, GHM, cGMP, OSHA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
Must possess knowledge of ISO standards, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and regulatory requirements governing the creation, control, retention, and maintenance of quality records and controlled documentation.
Must maintain advanced knowledge of project, program, and portfolio management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including PMI's PMBOK Guide, project governance frameworks, organizational change management, risk management, resource management, and portfolio prioritization processes.
Must demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, process optimization, and performance measurement techniques.
Must possess strong knowledge of business process improvement, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and cross-functional team leadership.
