Job description

         Plans and perform a wide variety of bench and machine operations to build, alter or repair highly complicated dies, tools, gauges, fixtures or jigs, where accurate relationship, fitting or interchangeability of parts require maintenance of extremely close tolerances.

         May be required to operate any type of tool room precision equipment working to required tolerances.

         Must be able to diagnose and remedy tool difficulties working in conjunction with Tool Engineers and Designers.

         Must have knowledge of all types of precision measuring instruments.

         Must have the ability to devise new methods, develop new tools, lay out and plan a sequence of work.

         Cuts, drills, files, shapes, fits and assembles parts with or without the use of blueprints.

         Must understand the general effect of heat treatment on various metals.

Tools & Equipment Used:

         All kinds of tool room machinery and equipment, machinist' hand tools, a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.

Experience & Other Requirements:

         Five (5) years of related experience.
