Job description

Replacing graduating students.Summary
Barry University School of Law seeks a Research Assistant for Professor Haley Mendola. This is a temporary, part-time position that may work up to 10 hours per week/40 hours per semester. The Research Assistant will assist Professor Mendola by researching topics assigned as well as completing various writing assignments.
Essential Duties
Assist professor in scholarly work the professor deems appropriate by:
  • Researching topics assigned using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and any other appropriate information.
  • Completing various writing assignments as assigned.
  • Completing additional research requests as assigned.
  • Performing edits and citing checks on the professor's articles.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must be a Barry University School of Law student who has completed the first year of Law School in good academic standing.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills required.
  • Self-motivated and meets deadlines.
  • Must have specialized knowledge of Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw information systems.
  • Excellent writing skills required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge or desire to learn in the specific legal area assigned.
