Processing team supports critical imaging and clinical technologies that help Banner Health providers deliver efficient, high-quality patient care. The team is responsible for approximately 40 enterprise applications, including imaging post-processing platforms, artificial intelligence solutions, and voice recognition applications. By partnering closely with clinical, operational, and technical teams, the Post-Processing team ensures these systems are reliable, secure, and optimized to support patient care across a wide range of service lines and specialties throughout the organization.

As a Senior IT Consultant on the Post-Processing team, no two days are exactly the same. One day may involve partnering with clinical stakeholders to improve workflows, evaluating new technologies, or leading an application upgrade, while another may focus on troubleshooting complex issues, coordinating with vendors, or implementing initiatives that enhance system performance and user experience. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys building relationships with stakeholders, and is passionate about leveraging technology to improve clinical operations and patient outcomes. In addition to serving as a trusted technical resource and application owner, this individual will mentor team members, share best practices, and help strengthen the team's overall capabilities while influencing technology strategy and driving meaningful impact across Banner Health.

This is a remote position. The schedule is Monday through Friday on a daytime shift, with hours varying based on business needs. This role also includes participation in an on-call rotation. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a high-level strategic contributor with expertise in selected business or healthcare processes and is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives relative to the company’s requirements. Acts independently providing knowledge, guidance, research, and fact-finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of complex information systems. Responsible for establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications, overseeing planning, tactical execution, and integration of initiatives.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Translates emerging customer needs and technologies into actionable business terms and associated plans. Contributes to the prioritization of all enhancement requests or initiatives to all electronic channels. Assures that the proper business case has been provided and the solution fits with overall strategic direction.

2. Develops solutions by applying accepted processes and/or creates new approaches to leverage technology from abstract information. Reviews and consults on design and content of all digital projects to ensure consistency across electronic platforms, efficiency and lack of redundancy, appropriateness of statistical analysis, and relevance to business and strategic objectives.

3. Provides mentorship to junior team members in the areas of strategy, external research and benchmarking, best-practice analysis, business analysis, and ultimately implementation of electronic solutions to our customers. Supports end user customers and vendors by assembling request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP), return on investment (ROI) calculations, capital or operating budgets data or other high level strategic specifications and documents.

4. Establishes and manages an effective dashboard of metrics that communicates objectives of initiatives and the progress towards specific goals. Oversees the effective, correct, and consistent application of data analysis and decision making based on fact for all information feeds into the innovation process for respective areas. Promotes the use of data analysis and fact-based decision-making. Educates and influences stakeholders on the most effective use of electronic channel options from both a short-term and long-term perspective. Maintains a significant role in the creation of strategic technology plans.

5. Guides the design, implementation and maintenance of complex application and system specifications and processes. Participates and may lead taskforces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize information technology service quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves complex project, system or application errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality.

6. Designs and administers complex standards and policies regarding application and end user customer documentation. Ensures that department and company standards are implemented and consistently adhered to.

7. Provides high level expertise to the development of fully integrated testing scenarios. Ensures that the information systems across multiple levels and states and their relationships are considered and are part of the comprehensive testing plans.

8. Maintains current professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare industry by attending educational workshops/conferences, establishing personal networks, and/or maintaining relevant certification or licensure as business needs require.

9. Foresees and resolves customer issues and provide solutions that meet the needs of the organization. Resolves conflicting objectives and priorities to stay within budget guidelines. High level responsibility for selected information applications or systems. Performs work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. Participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions company-wide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience. Must also have progressive experience in a healthcare environment typically achieved in seven plus years.

Must demonstrate substantial knowledge of information technology, healthcare, and/or operations for an assigned specialty area. Needs significant proven leadership experience in large scale project planning, reporting, and budgeting. May need experience with specific IT process methodology depending on assigned areas of responsibility.

Requires exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires leadership skills with ability to lead, communicate, and interact across facilities and at various levels. Successful candidate will have skills and experience to recruit, mentor, motivate, evaluate, and retain staff.

As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

Estimated Pay Range:

$46.84 - $78.06 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
