Join Akima's Strategic Growth Community as a Marketing and Communications Intern!The marketing and communications intern will support the efforts of Akima's internal and external marketing functions. Responsible for internal communications, external marketing, and stakeholder engagement, the department focuses on communicating to customers, with employees, and about our key differentiators.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary Role - Serving as a coordinator to the marketing and communications team. - Updating materials using Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative Suite products
- Basic design using Adobe Creative Suite
- Writing copy for internal or external communications
- Administrative tasks to support the department
- Participating in creative and strategy meetings
- Supporting event-related activities, including planning, communications, and day-of preparation and execution
- Participating in efforts to communicate our shareholder story and capabilities to internal and external audiences
Qualifications- College student with prior exposure to/or studying business or sales/marketing
- Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office Suite applications (includes MS Project, Excel Spreadsheets & MS Access)
- Must be outgoing and present a professional appearance
- Must be a US citizen
Desired Qualifications:- Pursuing (or plans of pursuing) an advanced degree in an sales, marketing, communications and/or business discipline
- Good writing and editing skills
- Practical work experience preferred
Work Environment and Physical Demands:- General office environment: no special physical demands required.
