Job description

Immediate need for a talented Application Support Engineer . This is a 12+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Spartanburg, SC (Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $40 - $45/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and support production applications.
  • Investigate and resolve application incidents and outages.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure, and database teams.
  • Support application deployments and production releases.
  • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Must have skills: - Strong experience in Application Support/Production Support, Linux/Unix, Shell Scripting, Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH), Infrastructure troubleshooting, and Oracle Database (SQL/PL/SQL preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in Application/Production Support.
  • Strong experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn).
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS).
  • Experience troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL is preferred.
  • Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 production support environment when required.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Splunk, Control-M, or monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn Oracle-related technologies and expand technical expertise.
