Commercial P&C Operations Manager / Director of Operations

An established and growth-focused commercial insurance organization is seeking a Commercial P&C Operations Manager / Director of Operations to lead day-to-day agency operations and support a team of approximately 35 employees. This opportunity is designed for an experienced commercial insurance professional who can bring technical agency expertise to an operational leadership role, strengthen internal processes, and create greater consistency and accountability across the organization.

The Commercial P&C Operations Manager / Director of Operations will oversee commercial Property & Casualty operations, lead and develop staff, standardize workflows, and partner with agency leadership to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. The ideal candidate will have progressed from a Commercial Account Manager or Account Executive position into agency operations leadership and possess a strong understanding of commercial insurance workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day Commercial Property & Casualty agency operations
• Provide leadership and oversight for approximately 35 employees
• Standardize agency procedures, workflows, and operational processes
• Improve operational efficiency and consistency across the commercial department
• Establish accountability systems and performance expectations
• Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
• Coach, mentor, and develop Account Managers, Account Executives, and other staff
• Support agency leadership with operational planning and execution
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements
• Maintain consistent operational standards across office and remote teams
• Develop and implement procedures that support continued organizational growth
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment

Required Qualifications:

• Strong Commercial Property & Casualty insurance background
• Previous experience as a Commercial Account Manager or Account Executive
• Prior agency operations leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing insurance staff
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance agency workflows and processes
• Proven ability to develop and implement procedures and operational standards
• Leadership and performance management experience
• Strong coaching and employee development skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience implementing agency operational improvements
• Experience conducting employee evaluations and performance reviews
• Experience managing hybrid or geographically distributed teams
• California commercial insurance agency experience preferred
