Job description

The Specialist - Inventory Control ensures the accuracy, integrity, and control of inventory across warehouse and production operations. This role combines hands-on activities such as cycle counting, location audits, and material verification, with analytical responsibilities, including transaction validation and production reconciliation. The Specialist investigates discrepancies, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions to maintain system-to-physical alignment, with a focus on high-value and critical materials. This position partners closely with operations and production teams to improve processes and reduce inventory errors.
Acme's Relocation Program is available for this vacancy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain inventory accuracy across warehouse and production through daily cycle counts, targeted audits, and full physical inventories as needed.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions-including receipts, transfers, and adjustments-are accurately recorded and validated within ERP/WMS systems.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and proper documentation.
  • Reconcile production activity by validating reported output against actual receipts; identify and resolve missing, incorrect, or incomplete transactions.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct bin and location audits to ensure proper product placement and system alignment; resolve issues such as misplaced inventory, empty system locations, or unrecorded stock.
  • Monitor and audit high-value or sensitive materials to minimize loss, shrinkage, and misplacement.
  • Prepare and communicate inventory accuracy metrics and discrepancy reports, driving visibility and accountability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with warehouse, production, and operations teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain a high standard of inventory control.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain organized, clean, and compliant storage areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Makes You a Great Fit:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and core inventory control processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems for inventory tracking and transaction entry.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Solid problem-solving skills, including basic root cause analysis and discrepancy investigation.
  • Working knowledge of inventory best practices, including transaction auditing, data integrity, and location/bin management.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with warehouse, production, and operations teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated accountability with a track record of following through on tasks and resolving issues.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process gaps and drive improvements.
  • Willingness to complete required training programs and adhere to standard work.

Workspace Environment:
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and production environment with extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting, bending, stretching, pulling, and climbing.
  • Comfortable working in cold and wet conditions, with temperatures ranging from 32ยฐF to sub-zero environments.
  • Able to navigate varying floor conditions, including uneven surfaces and inclines.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (high-low); certification required or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient with basic computer tasks and occasional office work, including periods of sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
