Job description

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Planner to manage external manufacturing partners, coordinate supplier production schedules, and drive material planning activities within a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will bring expertise in supply planning, inventory management, forecasting, and supplier performance management while serving as a key partner to Production Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams. This role requires a strategic and proactive professional who can anticipate constraints, mitigate supply disruptions, and drive consistent execution across a network of suppliers to meet business and customer commitments. This role has an onsite work schedule requiring the person to be in the onsite location 5 days a week.

What You Will Do

Operational Planning & Execution

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate outsourced production activities with external manufacturing partners to support customer demand and align with the master production schedule.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders, verify supplier transactions, and ensure accurate processing of supplier invoices.
  • Coordinate material flow and production activities before, during, and after outsourced operations to ensure seamless execution and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor supplier schedules, identify potential constraints, and implement recovery plans to mitigate supply disruptions and maintain operational continuity.
What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Two years of demonstrated experience in production planning, supply planning, materials management, supply chain operations, or coordination of outsourced manufacturing activities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment where priorities, schedules, and business needs can shift quickly.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently assess complex situations, make sound decisions, and drive solutions with minimal direction.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the creativity and resourcefulness to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and continuously improve processes in a growing and evolving business environment.
  • Experience working in environments that require a balance of system-based and manual planning processes, with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across internal teams and external supplier partners.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting additive manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485, AS9100, or similar quality management systems and associated supplier management requirements.
  • Experience leveraging Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar reporting and data visualization tools to monitor performance and drive operational decisions.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or other recognized supply chain certification.
  • Proven experience managing supplier performance, forecasting demand, balancing inventory levels, and ensuring on-time delivery across a network of external manufacturing partners.
