Job description

Job Summary:
1872 Consulting is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join their focused Software Engineering Team. The role involves building full stack web applications that impact the business significantly, requiring independent thinkers who can innovate and utilize the latest software development frameworks.
Responsibilities:
• Design and development of web-based internet and intranet applications
• Analyze and troubleshoot problems in web-based software application
• Build interfaces using REST/SOAP API with third party applications
• Design and develop new user interfaces for applications
• Build database models for applications
• Create business workflows using commercial software
• Perform testing, QC and monitoring of applications
• Prepare user and system manuals
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field such as MIS
• 5-8 years of software engineering experience
• Knowledge and experience in Python
• Knowledge and experience in Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge and experience in Apache Spark, Apache Airflow
• Extensive experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle 11g and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB
• Expert level jQuery/HTML5/CSS development
• Knowledge of bootstrap, require.js, SCSS
• Knowledge of REST API/JSON design patterns
• Understanding of object oriented development and application of OO concepts
• Experience with deployment tools – ant, Junit, Jenkins
• Deep experience and knowledge in AWS services
• Experience in front-end UI design using React framework
• Experience in application development using SQL/NoSQL databases
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
• Excellent organization skills, ability to diagnose problems
• Self-starter; candidate who can jump in quickly without a lot of direction
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be energetic, able to clearly communicate ideas
• Willing to be on call 24 x 7 for support as needed
Preferred:
• Master's degree in a related field
• Industry experience
• Professional programming certifications
