Job Title
Planning Optimization Leader
Position Overview
The Planning Optimization Leader is responsible for enabling end-to-end planning excellence across fibers, yarn, extrusion, finished goods, and hard/soft surface supply chains. This role merges OMP Master Planning, Inventory Optimization, and Analytics, ensuring that supply plans, capacity models, data systems, and inventory strategies work together to deliver world-class service, optimized cost, and improved planning precision.
The Analyst serves as a cross-functional integrator-connecting Planning, Sourcing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Data & Analytics, Customer Care, and Planning Technology teams to drive improved alignment, visibility, and decision-making across the enterprise.
This role is ideal for an analytically strong planning professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving problems that span multiple value streams.
Responsibilities:
Integrated Supply & Inventory Planning
  • Optimization of the OMP advanced planning tool for Fibers and carpet's long-range, integrated supply plans
  • Ensure processes are maintaining a time-phased inventory and capacity plans to balance customer service expectations (OTIF, fill rate) with operational constraints.
  • Evaluate supply, capacity, and inventory scenarios to ensure systems are clearly identifying and predicting bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.

Optimization & Analytics
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Integrated Planning analytics, providing insights that improve forecast accuracy, inventory health, and supply plan execution.
  • Partner with data analysts and IT Planning teams to develop dashboards, KPIs, and automated reports to support daily and strategic planning activities.
  • Mine, prepare, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets to influence business decisions that impact manufacturing and inventory costs
  • Partner with data analysts to build complex SQL or analytical models to enhance visibility into production, run strategies, constraints, and inventory trends.

Cross-Functional Integration
  • Partner with Fiber/Yarn Manufacturing, Hard Surface Planning, Customer Care, Sales, Sourcing, and Logistics to align production, inventory, and demand plans.
  • Serve as a connector between operational planning and enterprise strategic planning (IBP/S/&OP).
  • Facilitate decision-making by translating complex data into simple, actionable insights for stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Standard Work
  • Identify process gaps across extrusion, twisting/heatset, carpet manufacturing, and planning systems; develop and implement solutions.
  • Lead or support parameter governance for OMP (e.g., lead times, MOQ logic, min/max, safety stock, yarn conversion assumptions).

Operational Support
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing organizational change, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder alignment, and successful adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Monitor fiber, yarn, and finished goods inventories-including kanban logic-and drive continuous improvements in target levels and replenishment processes.
  • Provide daily visibility tools to support production scheduling, network health, service performance, and bottleneck identification.

Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing roles with Data/Analytics related experience.
  • Experience with OMP, HSRP, or similar planning tools.
  • Proven experience using analytics to solve business problems and support decision-making.
  • Proficiency with AI tools and data analytics applications to drive insights, automation, and business decision-making.

Preferred
  • Experience in fiber/yarn, extrusion, or carpet planning.
  • APICS/ASCM (CPIM/CSCP) certification.
  • Experience in time-series forecasting or advanced statistical modeling
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities and advanced analytics into business workflows to enhance forecasting accuracy, decision quality, and operational efficiency.
