About the Role:
Stitch Haven LLC is looking for a passionate and skilled Knitting Instructor and sales person to join our creative team in Westport, CT! This is a wonderful opportunity to share your love of fiber arts with students of all skill levels in a warm, welcoming environment. If you live and breathe yarn, needles, and all things knitting, we'd love to meet you!
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and teach knitting classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and project-based curriculum tailored to varying skill levels
  • Demonstrate knitting techniques including casting on, binding off, increases, decreases, and pattern reading
  • Provide individualized instruction and troubleshooting support to students during class
  • Maintain an inspiring classroom environment
  • Assist students and customers in selecting appropriate yarn, needles, and patterns for their projects
  • Stay current on knitting/crocheting trends, techniques, and fiber arts community developments
Requirements:
  • Proficient in a wide range of knitting techniques including colorwork, lace, cables, and knitting in the round
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient, encouraging teaching style
  • Ability to work with students of all ages and experience levels
  • Familiarity with knitting patterns, yarn weights, and fiber types
  • Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic about the fiber arts community
  • Availability for daytime, evening, and/or weekend class sessions
