Teaching Wage Range: $20.00 - $41.25 DOE and Certifications
Non-Teaching Wage: $20.00

Required Orientation & Training Dates: Nov 7th OR Nov 8th & Dec 5, 6, 12, 13
JOB SUMMARY
As a Ski/Snowboard Instructor, you will play an important role in growing participation in skiing and snowboarding and enhancing the skiing and riding experiences of our guests. Instructors will teach lessons to students of all ages and abilities with the safety and welfare of the students being of primary importance. We are looking for new and experienced instructors who have a desire to deliver exceptional guest service, share their passion for snow sports, support our school culture and objectives, and are eager to develop their teaching and skiing/riding skills through ongoing professional development training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide high-quality, engaging instruction experiences in private & group settings to guests of all ages & ability levels with an emphasis on the safety and welfare of the guests.

  • Attendance and completion of required HR training and orientation, plus required Ski & Ride School on-snow and online training.

  • Adhere to all Crystal Mountain safety policies.

  • Be a positive and professional ambassador of Crystal Mountain and the Ski & Ride School.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, and management.

  • Attendance at designated meeting times on scheduled workdays.

  • Assist supervisors with the lesson grouping process, learning area setup/teardown, lesson records, and incident reports as assigned.

  • Seek professional development through Crystal Mountain training and/or external PSIA-AASI opportunities.

  • Care, safekeeping and return of company-owned uniform.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Willingness and ability to work with children and adults.

  • Prior experience working with 4- to 12-year-old children in educational settings is preferred.

  • Must have strong customer service skills.

  • Able to take direction and work well in a team environment.

  • Intermediate skiing or riding ability with a strong desire to learn and be trained.

  • Any previous teaching, coaching or mentoring experience is preferred.

  • Seek continuing educational opportunities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.

  • Available to work 15 days or more per season and attend required orientation & training dates.

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Auditory and visual acuity to communicate with computers, phones, and/or mobile devices.

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time on your skis or snowboard standing, sliding, bending, and/or reaching.

  • Able to spend long periods outside in varying weather conditions (Minimum 2 hours).
