Construction PROJECT MANAGER - ESTIMATOR

Services By J National LLC

Carrollton, TX • On-site

$70K - $80K/yr

Full-time

Job description

At J National, we don’t just build projects—we build partnerships, elevate performance, and exceed expectations. As a leader in large-scale construction and restoration projects, we are looking for an energetic, detail-driven, and sales-savvy Estimator ready to take ownership, drive results, and grow with one of the most dynamic teams in the industry.
This is more than just estimating—it's strategic thinking, cost intelligence, and proactive selling of innovative construction solutions. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can influence outcomes, shape projects from day one, and work with a team that values ambition and bold thinking, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do

  • Develop detailed, accurate estimates at multiple project phases, from early concept through final pricing—across multiple trades and disciplines.
  • Sell your strategy. Communicate and present cost plans persuasively to internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors—making the case for your approach.
  • Drive takeoff execution and scope-of-work clarity across divisions such as Roofing, Siding, Fire/Flood Restoration, Ground-up Construction, and Renovations.
  • Solicit and negotiate pricing from vendors and subcontractors—leveraging your market knowledge to secure competitive, high-quality partnerships.
  • Compare and level bids, identifying value engineering opportunities and cost efficiencies.
  • Develop project strategies that include opportunities for self-perform trades, material selection, delivery sequencing, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Self-Perform Groups, Materials Teams, and Manufacturing to ensure successful execution from estimate to completion.
  • Utilize and enhance our centralized estimating database to maintain consistency and historical cost reference.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce variances between actual and estimated costs—and help shape how J National drives value in every bid.
  • Analyze cost trends to support strategic pricing and competitive positioning.

Who You Are

  • A natural seller—able to present ideas, advocate for your strategies, and win buy-in across internal and external audiences.
  • A high-achiever with 2–5 years of construction estimating experience, ideally in the multi-family or large-scale renovation industry.
  • Confident in your knowledge of Roofing, Siding, Fire/Flood Restoration, and both ground-up and complex renovation projects.
  • A self-starter with a drive for personal and professional growth—you don’t wait for direction, you create momentum.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple concurrent projects, with the discipline to prioritize effectively and the energy to keep things moving.
  • A clear communicator—able to translate complex estimates into simple narratives that align teams and support decisions.
  • Highly organized, deadline-focused, and flexible enough to thrive in an evolving work environment.
  • Passionate about quality, results, and customer satisfaction.
Why J National?

  • We’re builders, creators, and problem-solvers—committed to doing what others say can’t be done.
  • We offer career growth, real autonomy, and a seat at the table on meaningful projects.
  • Our team culture values accountability, innovation, and a winning mindset.

  • You’ll be surrounded by motivated peers, supportive leadership, and big opportunities.
