Position Summary
As a Director (Specialist Level 5) aligned to Fleet Management and Aircraft Transactions, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects and strategic initiatives that enhance client technical operations and fleet management capabilities. You will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, driving business development, coaching project managers and specialists, and aligning team efforts with Oliver Wyman Vector's strategic goals. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge, leadership acumen, and commercial savvy to deliver high-impact solutions and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development efforts within the Fleet Management and Aircraft Transactions focus area, identifying and pursuing new client opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
- Lead and oversee large-scale projects, ensuring delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and alignment with firm goals.
- Act as a subject matter expert in fleet management and aircraft transaction disciplines including asset management, aircraft records auditing including back to birth trace, maintenance repair and overhaul processes, and continuing airworthiness management.
- Coach and mentor project managers, specialists, and cross-functional teams to enhance performance, innovation, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate Oliver Wyman Vector's capabilities and deliver comprehensive, right-sized solutions.
- Lead the design and implementation of innovative technical frameworks and methodologies that address complex client challenges.
- Manage risk proactively by anticipating delivery and operational risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, and work-life balance within your teams and client engagements.
- Represent Oliver Wyman Vector at industry forums, conferences, and client meetings, articulating the firm's differentiation and thought leadership.

Experience & Qualifications
- Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in aviation technical services, aircraft records, asset management or related aerospace/aviation maintenance disciplines.
- Ten years or more of strong leadership skills supervising large teams.
- Proven track record leading large, complex technical projects and multi-disciplinary teams in regulated environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of Federal (or National Authority) regulations concerning aircraft, engine, and appliance continued airworthiness, configuration control, and pertinent client manuals.
- Strong analytical and high attention to detail skills while manipulating or managing large volumes of data
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management within aviation or aerospace sectors.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital tools and software that enhance technical services productivity and quality.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate, Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field; preferred or equivalent work experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.

- Collaborates closely with other Directors, Vice Presidents, and practice leaders across Oliver Wyman Vector and Oliver Wyman.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible for performance-based incentives.
