Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Packaging Process Development & Maintenance

  • Develop andmaintainpart packaging process routings.

  • Design new part packaging.

  • Revise existing packaging asrequired.

  • Maintain revision records.

  • Develop andmaintainpackaging cost information.

  • Provide engineering packaging data for Allison Divisions and the Department of Defense.

  • Packaging Material Specifications & Inventory Support

  • Develop andmaintainpackaging material specifications.

  • Create packaging material purchase order releases.

  • Assistin developing packaging inventory and replenishment programs.

Packaging Engineering Laboratory Coordination

  • Develop and perform testing on packages according to ISTA requirements. Conduct packaging material testing asrequired.

  • Perform testing for divisional needs asrequired.

  • Provide Warehouse & Distribution Project Support

  • Assistwith technical, system, in-houselogistics, and packaging quality issues.Assistwithsupplier packagingdevelopment.

  • Actively pursue costsavings &continuousimprovements

  • Conduct studies to reduce divisional labor and material expenses.

  • Evaluate employee suggestionsregardingnew packaging method improvements. Evaluate packaging concerns from employees, suppliers, and customers.

  • Maintain revision records and packaging cost information.

System & Technical Support

  • Assistwith system issues related to packaging processes, material specifications, andlogisticssystems.

Data, Documentation & Visual Support

  • Assistwith data collection and recording.

  • Create and update Kit Books and visual aids.

Key Performance Measures:

  • Kit book accuracy and timeliness

  • Proficiencywith SAP

  • Supplier development or packaging quality experience.

  • Exposure to cost analysis or continuousimprovement.

Experience:
