Job description

As the Sr. Director of AI/ML Engineering you will:

  • Lead a machine learning engineering team specializing in medical imaging and multimodal health data applications
  • Manage complex, multi-quarter, cross-functional projects
  • Be a standard bearer for data science and software engineering best practices
  • Develop plans to meet requirements, organize a team capable of executing the plans, and lead and track delivery
  • Drive an interview process to enable team growth adhering to diversity and inclusion requirements
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive team environment in which people thrive
  • Communicate clearly and accurately to leadership and the broader organization
Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years proficiency with standard deep learning algorithms and model architectures
  • Experience developing high-performing teams through coaching and feedback
  • 3+ years in a technical lead or engineering manager role with direct reports
  • 7+ years in professional software development practices (code standards, code review, version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, Agile) with ability to mentor others
  • 10+ years advanced Python programming skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large language models
  • Experience working in AI/ML health applications
  • Track record of end-to-end development of deployed products
  • Track record of delivering robust software solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of ML best practices, scalable training and deployment
  • Experience with biological sequence data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics)
  • ML-powered products for health applications
