About the role

As the Senior Manager, Content Strategy, you will define how Crunchyroll shows up to the outside world - crafting narratives, strategic positions, and content for our licensor and partners ecosystem. You'll help shape how we position Crunchyroll's best-in-class capabilities and guide external communications around new developments and title performance. You'll also help steer key engagement moments throughout the year and monitor partner and competitive developments within the anime space. You will collaborate with several departments, including Content, Brand Marketing, Theatrical, Finance, and more, to present actionable recommendations to the Content leadership and senior management team. 

In the role of Senior Manager of Content Strategy, you will report to the Director of Content Strategy. 

We are considering applicants for the location of Los Angeles, CA. 

Core Responsibilities
  • Leverage proprietary, internal, and external data to develop a deeper understanding of fan needs and behaviors, informing strategic investments in content and emerging media.
  • Assist in the creation of executive-facing materials, positioning documents, and partner communications.
  • Synthesize industry trends and competitive developments to inform content strategy and planning.
  • Develop frameworks that guide how Crunchyroll communicates research and insights to creative partners.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination around key partner engagement touchpoints and strategic programs.
About You

  • 8+ years of experience in strategy and planning and/or business development within anime, media, or entertainment. 
  • Experience in strategizing content decisions in the global streaming industry. 
  • Expertise in storytelling and partner engagement in anime, media, or entertainment.
  • Experience building compelling and actionable presentations directed at an executive-level audience for internal and external usage.
  • Experience in analyzing, synthesizing, and translating data and reporting into clear content-strategy recommendations.
  • Understanding of anime committee models and financing structures.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams.
  • MBA preferred
